Well, there is all of that tasty beer for one thing. And some pretty good sausage. The wine can be surprisingly good.

We, that is, Jennifer (a.k.a Jen) and Nigel, are really enthusiastic about all the cool stuff that comes from the Elbe valley.

This website is about the things that we find in this area. We think you might like them too (we like to share).

Why do we like the Elbe, you ask?

Jen is from Hamburg, so she is naturally biased about the river than runs through it. Nigel is from originally from New Zealand, but is not any more objective about the Elbe than Jen is. We met in Prague (also in the Elbe watershed) and had our first son there. He was born about 120 metres away from the Vltava (Moldau), which is the Elbe’s largest tributary. The second one was born in Altona.

What’s to like?

Well, there is all of that tasty beer for one thing. And some pretty good sausage. The wine can be surprisingly good. Nigel’s a little more objective about that, having studied winemaking and sensory analysis. And made wine here.  We’re pretty sure there is a lot more to be found, but that’s what the posts will cover.
